Getting
haemodialysis treatment is no longer a problem for dialysis patients in
Saratok.
Saratok Hospital’s haemodialysis unit, equipped with four
haemodialysis machines, commenced its operation in September 2005
According to Robin Ak Koyong, Senior Medical Assistant
in Haemodialysis Unit, Saratok Hospital, the service has relieved the finacial
burdens of most kidney patients in the district.
With the availability of the service in Saratok, the
patients no longer need to travel to Kuching or Sibu for their treatments.
As the haemodialysis unit is relatively new, the
Saratok Hospital is making efforts to inform the communities in the district of
this new service. As at end March 2006, the unit had given treatments to six
patients.
