As YB Datin Hajah Fatimah Abdullah said in the Administrative Professionals Seminar 2009, she wished everyone should have a change of mind set to the “entrepreneurial mindset”.
Everyone needs to behave like an entrepreneur even though one is not the one recognized as “The Entrepreneur” in order to achieve greatness of one’s capability.
Entrepreneurial Mindset, according to YB Datin Hajah Fatimah, is a result oriented which emphasize on good and efficient processes and practices to increase productivity, produce quality product, impressive gain, no losses and minimum wastage.
This practice is very important to the Administrative Professionals as these professionals are handling a wider variety of duties other than clerical works.
For most administrative professionals today, much more is expected. The nature of secretarial work is changing drastically as they have possess the skills in management functions and technology, including project management, integrated computer software applications, and Internet or Intranet communications and research, document preparation, storage, and retrieval, with emphasis on electronic recordkeeping, customer service and public Relations.
With businesses operating in a global economy, Administrative Professionals, who master technology, will have the ability to keep track, organize and be creative in solving problems and decision-making when they use their interpersonal and communication skills effectively.
Hence, those who are willing to learn and grow, and accept challenges are able to achieve goals and success in the future.
