Women’s Empowerment in Sarawak


Women in Sarawak has something excited to look forward at very soon. The 1st every Women Forum 2010 will be held here in Kuching on May 2, 2010. This forum was intended to confer the issues on the subject of women entrepreneurship for all women who have the passion and desire to furnish their idea into reality.


Organized by Hawa Ghazzali Holdings Sdn. Bhd., the objective is to create opportunities for women so that they can start, create, lead, and invest in the leading companies of the entrepreneurial market.


This forum gathers five distinguished speakers who four of them are Sarawakians. The six speakers who will be sharing their experience are Executive Chairman and Artist for Hawa Ghazzali Holdings, Datin Lynda Ghazzali, Founder and managing Director of ANNGUN COLLECTION, Puan Hajah Jamilah Hairuni Shukri, Founder Chairman and CEO of Mukah Agro Farm, Puan Hajah Fatimah Suhaibo, Founder of Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Pesakit HIV/AIDS Nurul Iman Malaysia (PERNIM), Puan Hajah Norlina Alawi and Sarawak Chamber of Bumiputera Entrepreneurs (DUBS) women chief, Puan Hajah Juita Hj Drap.


The speakers comes from different background with different professions, personalities, hobbies, experience but shares the same passion which is to live life fully and share the world what women are capable of.


On that day, these women will share how their past experiences are able to help them, develop qualities and strength of leaderships as well as looking forward and succeed. They will also share about challenges they had to face in a time when there were called “men’s world” as Datin Lynda said, “Women of today are capable to do men’s work”.


After holding the forum in Kuching, the forum will continue to hold in Miri (July 24), Kota Kinabalu (May 8), Kuala Lumpur (June 12), Kuantan (July 3) and Brunei Darussalam (June 26).


The Guest of Honour who will be attending the Women’s Forum 2010 in Pullman Hotel and Resort, Kuching will be none other than the Assistant Minister of Women Development, YB Datin Hajah Fatimah Abdullah.


The registration fee for this forum is RM350 per person where as for students is RM250 per person.
