The new system – Tribunal System, implemented by the Public Complaints Bereau (PCB) ensures public complaints to be settled within five working days. Compared to the old system, the new system allows complainants and agencies invovled to meet face-to-face to solve problems.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Senator Datuk T. Murugiah said “the new system is more efficient and effective compared to the old system where previously, we will forward the complains to the agencies and that will take longer time”.
However, any case which requires longer time to resolve, the maximum amount of days to complete is 14 days.
He also said in 2008, there were 283 complaints in the state (Sarawak) and all are 100% completed. Where as in 2009, 650 complaints made were also 100% complete. As at March 2010, there are 238 cases and 71.01% of them are completed.
He believes that PCB will bring the public closer to the government because the the main role of PCB is to ensure the welfare of the public.
The public may relay their complaints to the Bereau straight to PCB office at 5th Floor, Bank Negara Malaysia, Jalan Satok, Kuching or log on to www.pcb.gov.my.
