Tun Salahuddin Confers State Awards

Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin today bestowed state awards and medals to 108 recipients in a special investiture ceremony held at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri near here.

Leading the list of the recipients was Deputy Home Minister, Jelaing anak Mersat who received the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS).

Three received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK). They were Political Secretaries to Chief Minister, John David anak Nyauh and Peter Howell anak Jilan and President of Sarawak Tourism Federation, Wee Hong Seng.

Two were awarded Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC). They were Director of Sarawak Muzium, Ipoi Datan and Director of Inland Revenue Board, Mohammad Sait bin Ahmad.

Given the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) award was Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Paul Igai and Private Secretary to Dato Sri Dr.James Jemut Masing, Wilson Ugak anak Kumbong.

Nine received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK). They were Resident of Kuching Division, Liew Jiu Ming, Controller of NREB, Peter anak Sawal, Director of Sarawak Medical and Health Department, Dr. Zulkifli Jantan, Member of State Public Service Commission, Haji Sulaiman bin Hj.Narawi, Lt.Col.Jimbai anak Bunsu from Regiment 511 Askar Wataniah, Pemanca Austin Dimin anak Niyon, Dr.Albert Wong Sii Hieng (Neurosurgery Dept, Hospital Kuching), Chang Ngee Hui (State Planning Unit) and Foo Chi Ing(Amalgamated Battery, Pending).

Meanwhile, 10 others were awarded Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), 22, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), 16, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK), 25, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) and 18, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).

Among those present was the wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajah Norkiah, Assistant Minister in Chief Minister’s Office(Islamic Affairs), Datuk Hj Daud Abdul Rahman, State Attorney-General, Datu Hj. Abdul Razak Mohd Tready, Deputy State Secretary, Datu Ose Murang, heads of government departments and community leaders.
