A contingent from the Chief Minister’s Department has emerged as the best contingent in the National –level Rally held in conjunction with the Workers Day celebration on May 12 in Serdang, Selangor
The contingent received a trophy and a certificate from the Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak at the Malaysia Agro Exposition programme at Serdang Park (MAEPS) Selangor Darul Ehsan on that day.
“This title as brought a good image for the Sarawak at the national level and hopefully, it would be maintained in the future, “ said the State Secretary, YB Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani when receiving the prize from the contingent’s leader who is also Deputy State Secretary, YBhg Datu Misnu Haji Taha at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.
The victory also reflected the team spirit, high discipline and the aspiration to win among the members of the contingent, he added.
Among the criteria to achieve high markings at the competition were discipline, creative presentation, number of contingent, aoderly and suitability of the contingent.
The Sarawak contingent featured a kenyalang mascot while the team members were dressed in the colourful clothings of the Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau and Bidayuh coupled with songs and group dancing.
The state government’s contingent comprised 75 members drawn from its various departments and agencies.
