18th International Conference on ISO & TQM (18-ICIT) held in Kuching

The ’18th International Conference on ISO (International Standard Organisation) 9000 and Total Quality Management’ (18-ICIT) was officiated by Senior Minister and Minister for Land Development, YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing (centre), who attended the opening ceremony on behalf of Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

The conference, which took place earlier today, goes by the theme “Enhancing Growth and Productivity through Best Practices”. Specifically, the 18th ICIT will focus on how best practices in ISO portfolio of standards and TQM will affect quality trends in the new economy. TQM provides an overall concept that fosters continuous improvement in an organisation.

In the Chief Minister’s speech read by YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar James Masing, he stressed that Sarawak is envisioning itself to be a world-class civil service with a noble mission to deliver excellent service through high performance teamwork, while also stating that the State aims to be the richest state by 2030.

The event was also attended by Rector of UiTM Sarawak, YBhg Prof. Dato’ Dr. Jamil Haji Hamali (left), and Prof. Sam Ho, Founder Chair of I5SO & APBEST Academy, who is also the conference Co-Chairman. The conference was attended by a delegation comprising of government officials from 20 other nations and also other state officials.
