Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib together with the State Secretary, YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani and wife handed out gifts to some 100 children of the staff of state departments and agencies.
The annual event took place at the Astana Negeri last night was organised by the Sarawak Government Services Welfare and Recreational Council (MAKSAK), of which the State Secretary is the Chairman.
YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi said the activity was held in collaboration with other agencies as one of MAKSAK social responsibilities for the less fortunate members of in view of the forthcoming Hari Raya celebration.
He added MAKSAK would continue to play a leading role in welfare and recreational works for members and the needy in the state, and also adding to say that this would help to foster goodwill among civil servants and the public.
Among those present were Federal Secretary, YBhg Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin, State Attorney General, YBhg Datu Abdul Razak Mohd. Tready, Deputy State Secretary (Human Resource Management), YBhg Datu Misnu Taha, heads of government departments and various community leaders.
