Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment YB Dato’ Sri James Dawos Mamit (center) being briefed by an exhibitor about the underground system pipe during the official launch of the 13th International Conference on Urban Drainage at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, earlier today.
The conference is a programme by the International Water Association and International Association on Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IWA/IAHR) – Joint Committee on Urban Drainage (JCUD) and jointly organised by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) and Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia; co-organised by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
It is supported by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia (KeTTHA), the Sarawak Government and other international organisations including IWA and various professional bodies.
The theme for the conference: ‘Urban Drainage in the Context of Integrated Urban Water Management: A Bridge between Developed and Developing Countries’, aims to enhance understanding of complex issues in integrated urban drainage and water management.
