The Sarawak Career and Training (SCaT) Fair 2015 was held recently at the Borneo Convention Centre in Kuching over the past weekend (March 7 and 8).

The fourth edition of the fair that started since 2011 with the theme “Enhancing Employability” once again aimed to provide an avenue for youths opportunities for education, employment and financial assistance under one roof.

As the largest education and employment exhibition that focused on technical studies, SCaT Fair had received participation from 78 educational and training institutions, 62 companies and 11 funding agencies; within the 62 companies, over 2,900 jobs were offered through walk-in and open interviews conducted by PETRONAS, SHELL and JOBSMALAYSIA, as well as others.

A total of 26 general and career talks were also held, with talks on GST, career in the oil and gas industry by PETRONAS, SHELL and Schlumberger, along with a talk by Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera running concurrently.

Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Haji Satem who launched the two-day event hoped that through SCaT Fair, in setting their future youths in search of tertiary education and employment are able to avoid mismatching their studies and career.
