FitMalaysia, is an ongoing programme, by the Ministry of Youth and Sports aiming to raise awareness among Malaysians encouraging them to lead an active and healthy lifestyle, subsequently creating a sporting culture within the nation.
The state-level event will be launched by Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Haji Satem along with Minister of Youth and Sports YB Khairy Jamaluddin at Padang Merdeka on Sunday, 12 April.
About 10,000 participants are expected to join the programme with activities ranging from a series of running and cycling events to zones such as self defense, fitness, extreme and kids, as well as filler activities including exhibitions and sales.
Several roads will be closed on that day starting from 6.30 a.m namely, Jalan Wayang/Leboh Wayang junction, the Jalan Main Bazaar/Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg junction, Jalan Barrack heading towards Jalan Masjid, Jalan McDougall, and the traffic lights junction of RTM.
