The Asean International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA) returns for its second edition from 9th to 11th April, 2015 in Kuching, Sarawak, highlighting ASEAN filmmaking through seminars, exhibitions, screenings and networking with filmmakers from ASEAN and beyond.
Over 280 delegates from Southeast Asia as well as Korea, China, India and other countries will attend the festival held once every two years. Actors YBhg. Datuk Jackie Chan and YBhg. Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh are expected to attend the festival, as well.
Three events will be featured throughout the festival: the AIFFA Film Biz World for aspiring and professional filmmakers at Sarawak Tourism Complex on all three days, featuring talks by international speakers from the film industry and the ASEAN-Korea-China forum that includes renowned filmmakers from Korea and China discussing possible collaborations with ASEAN in film; the AIFFA Movies in the Rainforest, a unique 12-hour movie marathon for the public at Sarawak Cultural Village in the evening on 10th April; and the AIFFA Gala Nite on 11th April at Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching (BCCK) , dubbed the grand finale of the festival in which winners for 14 categories will be announced.
Tickets for the AIFFA Movies in the Rainforest are going at RM30 per entry and tickets for Gala Nite are RM50 for Zone C, RM500 for Zone A are all found at the Sarawak Tourism Complex office, Speedy outlets located at The Spring and Plaza Merdeka and online booking can also be made through www.ticketcharge.com.my. Last minute purchases can also be made at Sarawak Cultural Village on the 10th (Movies in the Rainforest) and BCCK on the 11th (Gala Nite).
Those who are unable to attend the Gala Nite can catch the live telecast on TV2 or the website at 9pm; live coverage of the red carpet will be on TVi at 7.30pm
