Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak YBhg Datu Ik Pahon Joyik and Sarawak Tourism Federation president Philip Yong delivering their concluding remarks to mark the end of the Sarawak Toursim Forum 2015.
Discussions throughout the one-and-a-half-day event by industry players from both public and private sectors have led to identifying 10 priority areas in pushing the state tourism industry forward, which consists of realistic and executable ideas ranging from branding, maintenance and expansions of products and services, as well as a one-stop online shop.
These areas will be zeroed down by relevant agencies, particularly Ministry of Tourism Sarawak, Sarawak Tourism Federation and Sarawak Tourism Board, following which short and long-term plans will be laid out.
YBhg Datu Ik also announced the forum to be an annual event as a get-together between all players in the tourism industry.
