Must read

Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Haji Satem (second left) presenting a gift to one of many receivers representing the less fortunate at Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching (BCCK) for the ‘Sinar Ramadan’ Buka Puasa gathering last night.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development as part of its efforts in realigning its delivery system towards its target groups – women, the poor, the disabled, senior citizens, children and families, among others – to ensure the country’s aspiration in achieving high-income status. Among those at the dinner were children from orphanages and members of various non-governmental bodies.

Having launched the Ministry’s new logo and tagline – ‘Keluarga Bahagia, Negara Sejahtera’ – earlier this month, its Minister YB Dato’ Sri Rohani Haji Abdul Karim noted the rebranding of the Ministry is consistent with the 11th Malaysian Plan, as it aims to improve the Family Well-Being Index as measured by 23 indicators under seven domains, including family relationships, family health and safety, as well as family and the community.

Other dignitaries and guests who were also present at the event were the Chief Minister’s wife YABhg Datin Patinggi Datuk Hajah Jamilah Anu, Minister of Welfare, Women & Family Development YB Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Assistant Minister of Early Childhood Education and Family Development YB Rosey Haji Yunus, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development secretary-general YBhg Dato’ Sabariah Hassan and others.
