Borneo Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health 2015

Minister of Human Resources YB Dato’ Sri Richard Riot Jaem visiting an exhibition booth after opening the 4th Borneo Convention and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) at a local Kuching hotel yesterday morning.

Themed ‘Journey to Safety and Health Excellence: New Challenges, New People, New Approaches’, the biennial event running from 17 to 18 August 2015 is designed as a platform for occupational safety and health (OSH) practitioners to meet and exchange knowledge on technical and practical ideas, views and experience, with the shared mission of achieving OSH excellence in Malaysia, particularly Borneo.

Organised by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia and supported by the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), the event features a conference covering 15 paper presentations encompassing various areas of OSH courtesy of speakers from government departments and agencies, private corporations, institutions of higher learning as well as NIOSH, and also an exhibition from some 30 companies and organisations showcasing OSH-related products and services.

About 500 delegates from Malaysia and abroad are attending the event. Present during the opening were Chairman of NIOSH YBhg Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Human Resources Dr Mohd Ghazali Abas, Executive Director of NIOSH Malaysia Ir Haji Rosli Hussin, Director General of DOSH Ir Mohtar Musri and Deputy Chief Executive of SOCSO John Riba Marin.
