International Symposium on Frontier in Tropical Forest Research

Organised by the Forest Department Sarawak, the two-day symposium will be highlighting progress in joint researches between the department and JRTCS; which covers from basic biology to functions and services of ecosystems and biological diversity.

More than 20 papers will be presented to participants from Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia, Forest Department Sabah, Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), universities, relevant government agencies and JRCTS. These papers consist of studies that were mostly conducted in Sarawak’s Totally Protected Areas (TPA), especially Lambir Hills National Park.

Also present at the ceremony were Tessy Nimos representing Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment YBhg Datu Sudarsono Osman and Assistant Director of Research, Development & Innovation Division (RDID) Runi Sylvester Pungga.
