Themed “Enhancing Economy through Active Bumiputera Participation in SMEs”, the seminar was organised by MITSA and UiTM with a focus on relevant issues in relation to Bumiputera involvement as entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), featuring talks on Malaysia’s current economic situation, opportunities in oil and gas industry, opportunities for SMEs in Southeast Asian region and Government initiatives to bolster entrepreneurships through education and training programmes.
The seminar was attended by 240 participants consisting of mostly students was also designed as a platform for Bumiputera entrepreneurs, especially young creative ones to meet and to expand their networks.
The first NBES was held in 2006 focusing on the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), followed by 2010 highlighting higher income economy.
