Over 6,000 people attended the event which was organised by the Ministry of Welfare, Women and Family Development; this year’s event was themed “Sarawak Women in the Arts”, in recognition of Sarawakian women who have brought acclaim on state, national and international levels through their talent, ability and creativity in the arts.
In conjunction with the event, the Chief Minister launched the book Sarawak Women in the Arts that was published by the Sarawak Women and Family Department.
Additionally, an exhibition featuring arts and crafts of the women featured in the book was also organised.

Chief Minister’s Award Woman Social Activist – Dr Ong Puay Hoon
Chief Minister’s Award Woman Entrepreneur – Roselyn Long Lah
Chief Minister’s Award Woman Leadership – YBhg Dato Alice Jawan Empaling
Special Achievement Award in the Arts – YBhg Dato Sarbanun Abdul Kadir Marican
Datuk Patinggi Laila Taib Award – YBhg Datuk Hajah Sharifah Mordiah Tuanku Haji Fauzi
