About 30 people representing print, broadcast and electronic news media, along with head of branches and officers from MACC Sarawak, attended the function.
Dato’ Badrul Shah hoped that the media continues to provide and disseminate extensive coverage on MACC Sarawak anti-corruption initiatives to the public.
Throughout 2015, MACC Sarawak has undertaken initiatives to curb anti-corruption through engagements with political parties, community leaders and the rural population, as well as lectures to various government agencies and departments throughout the State.
It has also cooperated with Forest Department Sarawak to address illegal logging, most notably through ‘Operasi Gergaji’, in which logs worth over RM245,000 and one unit of heavy machinery were confiscated so far.
Additionally, in implementing Corporate Integrity programmes to both public and private sectors, it has signed the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) with Sarawak Rivers Board and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
