Minister of Natural Resources and Environment YB Datuk Seri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (second right) attended the mangrove-planting event during his working visit at Kuching Wetland National Park on Thursday, 14 January 2016.
His visit was part of a one-day Meeting of Environment Ministers and State Executive Council Members Responsible For Environment (MEXCOE) held at at a resort in Damai.
Located about 20 km from Kuching, Kuching Wetland National Park covers an area of 6,610 hectares, and is the only site in Sarawak designated under the Ramsar Convention, which champions the development and maintenance of an international network of wetlands.
