4th BIMP-EAGA Transport Working Groups Meeting

The three-day event, which began from yesterday until tomorrow (16-18 May 2016) is hosted by MIDCom. It aims to have the 40 member delegates from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines to discuss objectives, identify deliverables and finalise strategic plans of projects in relation to the transport industry.

The Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) is a sub-regional economic co-operation initiative in Southeast Asia which aims to increase trade, tourism and investments inside and outside the sub-region by facilitating the free movement of people, goods and services, making the best use of common infrastructure and natural resources, and taking the fullest advantage of economic complementation

It recently implemented the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025 that focuses on pushing member countries into becoming an economically competitive region by 2025.
