This year’s marked the first time the celebration was being held on a public holiday, declared by the Chief Minister earlier in May 2016 as a reminder to the people of Sarawak the importance of the State’s period and capability of running a self-governing administration.
The celebration also included an exhibition chronicling the history of Sarawak, which was open to the public over the weekend from 22 to 24 July 2016.
