The Paralympiad XVIII Games will be held from 6 to 10 August 2016, with nine games in competition, namely archery, athletics, badminton, chess, lawn bowling, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and tenpin bowling.
The Sarawak contingent is the biggest compare to the other states, which included 77 officers and 201 athletes. These 201 athletes are part of the overall 1,405 athletes participating in this year’s Games.
Sarawak has also been the champion for 11 times since the biennial Games was first held in 1994. In the previous 2014 Games in Perlis, Sarawak won 66 gold, 44 silver and 22 bronze medals.
