The first ever International, ICT, Infrastructure and Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2017 will take place at Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching (BCCK) on 3rd and 4th April, 2017, focusing on the growth of technology and its potential in spurring Sarawak’s economic development.
Organised jointly by the State Government, Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE) and Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS), the conference will feature 18 Malaysian and international speakers that are expected to present topics and findings in relation to the digital economy, including digital economy expert and world-renowned speaker Don Tapscott, Grab Malaysia country head Sean Goh and LAZADA Malaysia chief executive officer Hans-Peter Ressel.
The conference also hopes to attract about 1,500 delegates from all ASEAN nations, comprising the private sector, start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), government agencies and university students.
Chief Minister YAB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, who initiated the idea of this conference, is expected to launch the event on 3rd April.
