The State Government has approved three development projects for Lundu, namely a waterfront, a matriculation college and a new hospital.
Assistant Transportation Minister YB Datuk Dr Jerip Susil elaborated these projects in detail, responding to Tanjung Datu assemblywoman YB Datuk Amar Hajah Jamilah Haji Anu during the 4th day of the 1st Meeting of the 2nd Term of the 18th State Legislative Assembly on 16th May, 2017.
For the waterfront project in Sematan, YB Datuk Dr Jerip explained that the State Government has approved an allocation of RM4 million.
Preliminary works for this project have concluded, whereas soil investigation and design are still in progress.
Looking ahead, the tender process is scheduled for August 2017, while construction is to take place by January 2018 and completion expected within 12 months.
At the same time, although still in the planning stage, the sites for both Sematan Matriculation Centre and the new Lundu Hospital have been approved by the State Planning Authority in March.
The sites will be located next to each other at Pueh land district, with the matriculation centre to be built on a 41-acre piece of land and the hospital on a 25-acre land.
