MalaysiaBiz Portal, which was first launched in Peninsular Malaysia in 2016 and has expanded to Sabah in July 2017, is expected to provide easier and immediate access on business registration and licensing information for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Sarawak.
“MAMPU (Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit) has collaborated with the Sarawak State Government together with State authorities to ensure that the business community in Sarawak will benefit from this portal as well,” said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department YB Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun in a press release in conjunction with MalaysiaBiz Portal launch at the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Sarawak Campus, Kota Samarahan, on 8 August 2017.
“As a result, beginning May 2017, information on business registration and licensing at MalaysiaBiz Portal has been successfully provided for 99 State authorities in Sarawak,” he added.
In turn, the State Government welcomed the implementation of the initiative and expressed their commitment for continuous support and cooperation towards MAMPU in ensuring the success of the one-stop portal, as it is in line with their own measures to boost SMEs contribution to the State economy.
“We hope that this portal will give significant impact to our efforts to boosting our service delivery quality,” said Assistant Minister of Industries and Investment Sarawak YB Malcolm Mussen Lamoh in his welcoming remarks.
MalaysiaBiz Portal is a portal that delivers horizontal licensing information across various licensing authorities covering 1,174 business activities in various economic sectors based on the Malaysia Standard Industrial Classification (MSIC) 2008.
The launch of the portal also saw the presentation of certificate of appointment to 190 Licence Information Partners (RIL) from 99 State agencies and authorities in Sarawak.
