Signing on behalf of Sarawak Energy was Group Chief Executive Officer, Sharbini Suhaili (fourth right) and Assistant General Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility, Jiwari Abdullah (third right) who represented Executive Vice President for Corporate Services, Aisah Eden while on behalf of Bakun Charitable Trust were its Chairman, YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing (fifth right) and Assistant Minister for Industrial Development as well as Batang Ai Assemblyman YB Malcolm Mussen Lamoh (fifth left).
During the signing, Sarawak Energy presented a cheque of RM200, 000 to kick start the Batang Ai special fund and another RM200, 000 for the third consecutive year for the revolving fund.
Sarawak Energy’s partnership with the Bakun Charitable Trust goes back through a MoU signed in 2015, with a RM200,000 yearly revolving fund which benefits the seven resettled communities and 19 other Penan communities in Belaga. The MoU expands Sarawak Energy’s contribution to an existing annual revolving fund that has helped the Penan community in Belaga and those directly affected by the Murum Hydroelectric Plant.
