Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg commended the Royal Malaysian Customs Department Sarawak for its “active role in promoting and fostering economic prosperity in Sarawak.”
“In our quest towards transforming Sarawak into a digital economy I sincerely hope that the Department will continue to support us with its various services,” he said in his speech read by Minister of International Trade & E-Commerce and Second Minister of Finance YB Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh during the department’s Appreciation Night 2017 at a hotel in Kuching on 4th December 2017.
He also expressed his gratitude to the private sector and its continuous collaboration with Customs Department Sarawak in tackling trade and commerce-related issues that could hinder Sarawak’s economic development.
Meanwhile, the event was organised by the Senior Officer of Royal Malaysian Customs Association Sarawak in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department Sarawak.
It aimed to give appreciation to the department’s customers, as well as foster good relations with the industry, especially in Sarawak.
