The Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE), in collaboration with global management consulting firm Korn Ferry, will launch its very own ‘Digital Leadership Academy’.
Deputy Chief Minister YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who was representing the Chief Minister, revealed this before officiating the ‘Workforce of the Future – Driving the Digital Economy for Sarawak and Beyond’ forum at a leading hotel in Kuching on 17th January 2018.
“(The establishment of the academy) is in tandem with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy to develop talent pools within government linked corporations and corporate organisations in Sarawak,” he elaborated.
On the forum itself, he noted the timeliness of the event, particularly as Sarawak had been driving efforts to enhance local talents for the digital economy.
He was also confident that the forum would be a worthy platform to discuss “how we can utilise technology to enhance humanity as it is very much interwoven with our work and lives.”
Meanwhile, the one-day forum was organised by the Ministry of Human Resource Malaysia and the Sarawak State Government, in collaboration with SCOPE, the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) and Korn Ferry.
Attended by about 400 participants consisting of leaders from both public and private sectors, it aimed to share insights and exchange ideas with industry leaders about “The Workforce of the Future” and how it would drive the digital economy for Sarawak and beyond.
It also discussed the foundation required to be in place to develop human capital for the future as part of Sarawak 2030 and National Transformation 2050 (TN50) agenda, as well as provided a platform for top local and global organisations to share their experiences in shaping and driving digital initiatives.
