The upcoming Digital Tourism Forum 2018, which will take place at Pullman Hotel, Kuching on 9th March 2018 (Friday), is expected to become a platform for tourism players from Sarawak and overseas to have discussions on ways to better coordinate relationships among one another.
Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports YB Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this during the press conference of the forum, which he described as another effort “to provide more information regarding tourism in Sarawak.”
The forum is organised by the ASEAN-China Entrepreneurs Association with the aim to amalgamate the visions of top policy makers and industry players within ASEAN’s tourism industry to boost the growth and visibility of ASEAN countries as top tourist destinations.
Ambassadors or their representatives from various ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand, are expected to share their insights on the topic “How the Digital Era Improves and Impacts the ASEAN Tourism Industry: Promoting and Interacting Across ASEAN Countries, the World and to Malaysia.”
Aside from being a platform for networking and sharing ideas, opinions and experience among tourism players regarding the capitalisation of modern technology to improve ASEAN’s tourism industry, the forum is also organised to promote Sarawak as an international tourist destination.
Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg is expected to launch the Digital Tourism Forum 2018, where delegates from ASEAN countries as well as Australia and China will be present.
