The LRT project is estimated to cost around RM10.8 bil. The proposed routes are intended to improve the mobility and connectivity of people of Greater Kuching, Samarahan and Serian, with emphasis to link major population centres, employment and education nodes and planned Transit Oriented Development (TODs).
