Kuching will be the host for the state-level Malaysia Day celebration for this year.
The main highlight of the celebration will be a dinner reception to be held at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. There will also be a special stage presentation to be coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports including songs, poems and dances featuring messages on nationalism and unity. A video presentation on the formation of Malaysia will also be shown during the reception.
The guest of honour will be His Excellency the Governor of Sarawak, Tuan Yang terutama Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib.
Also to attend the reception will be the Chief Minister of Sarawak, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg and his wife, Datin Patinggi Dato Hajah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang, cabinet ministers, other dignitaries and guest.
