Must read

The Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) form will be made available in the National Registration Department (JPN) offices starting 1st March 2019.

The one-off incentive of RM1000 for each child will be managed by Bank Islam based on the terms and conditions agreed between the financial institution and the Sarawak government.

“When the recipient is 18 years old, they may withdraw the money by submitting their MyKad to Bank Islam or any of its branches,” said Minister for Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah.

Elaborating more, YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah said that registration can be made at any JPN offices or its branches throughout Malaysia.

Parents may fill in the EFS form when they register the birth of their child where JPN will then hand over all complete forms to Bank Islam every two weeks for processing.

Notification of registration will be sent by the bank to the registered address, and the original certificate can be claimed at Bank Islam as specified in the notification letter.

Any born babies born in or outside Sarawak, regardless of their race, religion and status is eligible for EFS, provided that both parents or one of the parents are Malaysians with “K” status on MyKad.

Registration for EFS on adopted child may also be made if both or one of the parents are Malaysians with “K” status on MyKad and has a valid child adoption certificate.
