The two-day event is an initiative by the Sarawak government to engage closely with members of the public by going to the ground as a one-stop centre for them to access services and products.
The event showcased more than 100 booths manned by representatives of various government departments and agencies as well as institutions of higher learning.
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak Chief Minister emphasized on three factors that can greatly transform the Sarawak economy.
The three factors include strengthening the socio-cultural values among the people, the economy strategy of Sarawak and also the social aspect of the people.
By emphasizing these three factors, he added that the economy can be transformed particularly the agriculture sector, which is the core development for the rural area.
During his speech at the Sarawakku Sayang event, YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg said that the State is on the right path in moving forward towards becoming a developed nation.
In moving forward, he emphasized on strengthening the socio-cultural values among the multi-racial and multi-religion people in Sarawak through mutual understanding.
“Apart from that, we have also drafted our strategy economy based on the strength that we (Sarawak) have. We do not depend 100 per cent on other people, but on our experience and knowledge that we have,” he added.
In addition, he noted the State is also emphasizing more on social aspect such as the education and training for the youths.
In his speech, YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari also recalled how the late Tok Nan has also reminded him to take care of the welfare of the rural communities before passing.
The Sarawakku Sayang 2020 event was organised at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre from 12th to 13th January.
