Various research and development efforts on alternative renewable energy are discovering potentials that hydrogen has as the energy of the future.

Although it is an energy that needs to be produced like electricity, hydrogen has a longer discharge duration and larger capacity compare to other energy carrier technologies.

This makes hydrogen suitable for applications in transportation and industrial sectors; because it is an economical fuel, it provides hydrogen-powered vehicles better mileage and lower cost per kilometre, unlike vehicles that use fossil fuel.

Most telling of its potentials is that no pollutants or greenhouse gases are produced when hydrogen is used to power a fuel cell, as its only by-products are water and heat – hence, zero emission.

Needless to say, being an excellent energy carrier that is environmentally friendly, hydrogen is capable of powering an economy through green development.
