Sarawak’s first One Stop Early Intervention Centre (OSEIC) is expected to be in operation in June this year in Matang Jaya, Kuching.
The one stop centre is an initiative by the Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Ministry in collaboration with Petronas in their effort to provide an inclusive early childhood education in Sarawak.
The facility will provide services such as early diagnosis, early intervention, rehabilitation and early education for children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and learning disabilities.
According to its minister, YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, the one-stop centre is still in the renovation process and is expected to be completed in May.
Once completed, the OSEIC will be handled by the Society for Parents of Children with Special Needs (Pibakat).
