Covid-19 is the latest line of disease that is affecting the wellbeing of the people as well as the global economy.

While not a lot of facts is not known about Covid-19, there have been numerous misinformation about the novel virus on social media.

To know more on the truth of Covid-19, here are some facts by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the transmission of the new coronavirus.

First, the virus cannot travel on waves or radio network. Covid-19 is spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speak. People may also be infected by touching a contaminate surface and then their eyes, mouth or nose.

There is also said that Covid-19 can be transmitted through mosquitos’ bites. However, to date there has been no information or evidence that the virus could be transmitted by mosquitoes.

The new coronavirus is primarily spread through droplets generated when an infected person sneezes or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.

Another fact about Covid-19 is that a person can catch Covid-19 regardless how hot the temperature is. Countries with hot weather such as Malaysia has reported cases of Covid-19. As of now, Malaysia have 4,683 confirmed cases.

An additional fact about Covid-19 is that most people who catch it can recover and eliminate the virus from their bodies. Catching the virus does not mean you will have it for life.

It is advisable that if you exhibit the symptoms, do seek early medical care by calling the health facility.
