While PCR screening test is no longer required for those entering Sarawak, those entering the State must adhere to some guidelines and SOPs set by SDMC
Those entering Sarawak must adhere to the latest guidelines set by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
It was announced that Malaysia citizens entering Sarawak from West Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan does not need approval from the committee or take a PCR test before entering into the State.
However, they must download the MySejahtera apps as well as tracing apps (Covid Trace and QMUNITY) and fill in the Health Declaration Form (E-Health Declaration).
In addition, random samples will be taken upon arrival at the State’s main entry point (land, sea, air).
SDMC has also release a new policy regarding those entering the State (teachers and educators) to undergo self-quarantine at home. Teachers and educators working in rural areas will be quarantine at Surveillance Centres.
On the 10th Day, they will have to undergo a screening test.
In addition, foreign citizens who possess valid working permit and visas including participants of MM2H must applied for permission from SDMC and undergo quarantine as well for 14 days.
It is also mandatory for those returning to Sarawak to wear QR Code wristband throughout their quarantine period.
The quarantine SOP revealed that it is mandatory for all Sarawakians returning from overseas to undergo 14 days quarantine and be tested on Day-10.
It is also stated that it is mandatory for all Malaysian citizens who has a history of travelling overseas in the past one month to undergo 14 days quarantine and be tested on Day-10 if they wish to enter Sarawak.
At the moment, overseas travelling is still prohibited and borders still remains close.
SDMC has instructed Sarawak State Border Committee to enhance control (land and air) at the State border to ensure no illegal entry into Sarawak.
