Towards a More Structured Development at Kabong District

Must read

Kabong is set to be a key coastal area in Sarawak, with five projects being planned and developed to ensure a more structured development in the district.

Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg revealed that among these projects are the construction of a new district office that costs RM7.0 million, a community hall (RM5.5 million), and a new mosque with a wedding hall (RM14.0 million).

Also in the works is the new Kabong township, which will be developed on a 27-acre land that includes new housing areas and small business centres.

“As fund for these projects (for the township) had been approved, I believe they would be completed by 2023,” said the Chief Minister

He also announced the upgrading of water channels and pipes that will further help resolve water supply problems affecting Kabong District.

With RM15.0 million allocated to Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), the project will see new water supply piping being connected up to Hulu Roban, benefiting five longhouses located there.

The Chief Minister spoke of this following a briefing about Kabong District development projects at Kabong District Office on 18 September 2021.

Among those present included State Secretary YB Datuk Amar Jaul Samion and Deputy State Secretary (Socio-economic Transformation) YBhg Dato Sri Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki.
