Since its introduction in 2015, Rural Transformation Project (RTP) has been a vital initiative in accelerating rural development in Sarawak through the provision of basic infrastructure, utilities and social amenities towards the well-being of the people.
Apart from being in line with the State’s aspiration of becoming an advanced and high-income economy by 2030, it is a key agenda of the Sarawak Government to ensure that every citizen, especially the rural population, can enjoy the benefits of development as found in urban areas.
To monitor the implementation of these “rural-based, people-centric” projects, the State Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) under the Department of the Premier of Sarawak utilises a specially developed system called the Rural Transformation Project Monitoring System or RTPMS.
The system enables implementing agencies to enter project information for approval, and update implementation status as well as other information for monitoring activities, thus enhancing the effectiveness of RTP execution and monitoring.
