The creative industry players in Sabah and Sarawak are urged to take the opportunities of the funds provided by the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (FINAS).
In doing so, those who have received the funds are also encouraged to produce original contents that highlights the grassroots of Sabah and Sarawak.
This was said by FINAS chief executive officer Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri during the webinar session FINAS CEO together with Borneo industry players.
Adding more, Ahmad also said that by highlighting local culture into their content, this will help create an image that is unique to the creative industry players in Borneo.
Apart from that, through the funds provided, he also noted that this will help develop and stimulate the creative industry in Sabah and Sarawak.
During the webinar session, Ahmad highlights several initiatives introduced under the Program Pakej Rangsangan Industri Kreatif Malaysia (PRISMA) 2021.
PRISMA 2021 is an initiative that has been launched by the Ministry Communications and Multimedia Malaysia to help sustaine the Malaysian industry players especially those in Borneo affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the funds that are introduced to the participants during the webinar session are:
1. Dana Mikro PRISMA : Daya Kreatif
2. Dana Mikro PRISMA : Pembangunan Idea dan Skrip
3. Borneo Pitch @ PRISMA DKD
The webinar session was attended by 100 participants in the creative industry from Sabah and Sarawak.
Also participating in the webinar session was FINAS board member YBhg. Dato’ Norhyati Mohd Ismail and YBhg. Dr Rose Patsy Tibok as well as Director of FINAS Borneo, Mohd Nazrul Shah Bin Hamid.
