Sarawak Pavilion telah dianugerahkan rekabentuk booth Kerajaan Negeri Terbaik di Ekspo Merdeka 50 Tahun yang telah diadakan di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra, Kuala Lumpur, bermula 30hb Ogos sehingga 2hb September 2007. Anugerah tersebut telah disampaikan oleh Pengerusi Penganjur Ekspo, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Mustaffa Babjee.

Ekspo 50 Tahun Merdeka ini merupakan salah satu acara menarik yang diadakan sempena sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Malaysia ke-50. Upacara perasmian telah disempurnakan oleh YAB Dato' Seri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia.

Unit Perancang Negeri Sarawak dan Unit Perhubungan Awam dan Korporat telah bergabung usaha untuk menjayakan penyertaan Sarawak di Ekspo ini yang turut disertai oleh Kementerian Pembangunan Industri, Unit Pemantauan dan Pelaksanaan, Yayasan Sarawak, Jabatan Muzium Sarawak, Lembaga Pelancongan Sarawak, Unit Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi, Pusat Kepelbagaian Biologi dan Perbadanan Kemajuan Perusahaan Kayu Sarawak. Selain daripada itu, agensi-agensi Kerajaan Negeri dan Persekutuan lain serta pihak swasta turut menyumbang kepada keunikan Sarawak Pavilion.

Sarawak Pavilion telah mempamerkan pencapaian pembangunan Negeri Sarawak sejak Merdeka dan fasa-fasa transformasi ke arah menjadi Negeri yang moden serta kejayaanya dalam mengekalkan kekayaan kebudayaan dan alam sekitar dalam waktu yang sama. Di antara pelawat VIP yang telah berkunjung ke Sarawak Pavilion ialah Yang Amat Berhormat Perdana Menteri Malaysia Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi.

Sarawak
Pavilion Booth was honoured with the Best State Government Booth Design
award when it participated in the 50th Merdeka Expo from 30th August to
2nd September 2007 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The
award was presented by the Organising Chairman of 50th Merdeka Expo,
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Mustaffa Babjee.

The
50th Merdeka Expo is one of the anchor events of the 50th Merdeka
Celebration. The Expo was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister of
Malaysia YAB Dato' Seri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak.

The
State Planning Unit and the Public Relations & Corporate Affairs
Unit of the Chief Minister’s Department jointly coordinated the State
Government’s participation in the Sarawak Pavilion. Various State
agencies such as the Ministry of Industrial Development, Sarawak
Foundation, Sarawak Museum Department, Sarawak Tourism Board,
Information Communication Technology Unit, State Implementation
Monitoring Unit, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre and Sarawak Timber
Industry Corporation were amongst the Sarawak Pavilion exhibitors.
Additional information materials and unique Sarawak souvenirs provided
by the other State and Federal agencies and the private sectors also
added to the uniqueness of the Sarawak Pavilion.

Sarawak
Pavilion showcased Sarawak’s development achievements since the
formation of Malaysia, with special highlight on the State’s economic
transformation and progress into becoming a modern and developed State
while at the same time preserving her colourful cultures and natural
environment. Among the VIP visitors who visited the Sarawak Pavilion
was the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad
Badawi.
