Following its recent success at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Petaling Jaya, the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) Open Day will soon be held here in Kuching at the Borneo Convention Centre on January 15 and January 16, 2010.
The two-day event is expected to attract more than 1000 attendees at large. While the first day of the event on January 15, is targeted for Sarawak State dignitaries and civil servants only, members of the public are also invited to the second day event on January 16 to share their feedback from 8am until 6pm.
The event will be attended by Y.B. Senator Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of National Unity and Performance Management who is also the Chairman of the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) Board. He will be accompanied by Y.B. Senator Dato’ Sri Idris Jala, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Chief Executive Officer of PEMANDU, an entity that assists the implementation and assess progress of the GTP initiative.
The GTP Open Day follows the completion of ‘laboratories’ (labs) conducted from October 5 to November 13, 2009, on the six NKRAs namely – reducing crime, fighting corruption, widening access to quality and affordable education, raising living standards of low income households, improving infrastructure in rural areas and improving urban public transport.
More than 250 personnel from various Ministries, agencies and departments throughout the country participated in the labs and they have not only identified radical, practical and innovative solutions to realise the NKRAs, but have also drawn up detailed execution plans for many of the NKRAs.
