Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has been awarded the 4-Star Accountability Index in Financial Management for the third consecutive year, this year.
The 4-star award is the highest rating under the Accountability Index for excellence in financial management based on Financial Management Accountability Index (FMAI) by the National Audit Department of Malaysia (NAD). The FMAI is one of the initiatives introduced in 2007 by NAD to enhance accountability and integrity of public fund management in all government ministries, departments and agencies at Federal and State levels.
The Accountability Index provides a structured and consistent approach to measure and compare the level of financial management compliance among the government ministries, departments and agencies.
SEDC was one of the first agencies to be adopted by the National Audit Department under its Accountability Index programme in 2007. Following this programme, SEDC was awarded 3-star rating for the years 2007 and 2008, before bagging the highest rating of 4-star for 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Receiving the award from the Menteri Besar of Pahang, YB Dato’ Sri DiRaja Haji Adnan Bin Haji Yaakob, on behalf of SEDC Sarawak was its General Manager, Tuan Haji Soedirman Haji Aini, The presentation was held in Kuantan Pahang in conjunction with the ‘Hari Audit Se-Malaysia & Persidangan Juruaudit Sektor Awam 2012’ on 1st October 2012. It was also witnessed by YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Haji Ambrin Bin Buang, Malaysian Auditor General.
