IMalaysia Harmony Programme To Draw 10,000 Crowd

Some 10,000 people from around this division and neighboring Negara Brunei Darussalam are expected to converge at the Dataran Jubli Emas/esplanade here in conjunction with the two-day national level Harmony 1Malaysia programme on December 18 to 19.


Director General of the Information Department, Dato’ Abdullah Morad said the programme, organized by his department in collaboration with agencies and departments under the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture (KPKK) and the State Government is primarily to introduce to the public about the 1Malaysia Harmony Programme and the renaming of the Komuniti Bestari as Komuniti 1Malaysia (1Malaysia community).


Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim would launch the programme on December 19 at 10am, he said, adding that the minister would also perform a walkabout at the vicinity to meet the people.
 

The minister would also launch the kampong Bunga Raya Wifi service and the 1Malaysia Friends at the same time to be followed by a video conferencing with the villagers, he added.

 

Abdullah said among the various interesting activities for the public to see on Dec 18 were senam seni, Gong festival, 1Malaysia Forum, an infotainment concert (pentarama) by Information Department artistes, 1Malaysia community expo, 1Malaysia food, reading campaign, Friends of 1Malaysia and a special stage show on Rosli Dhobi.

 

On Dec 19, he said, besides the launching ceremony, other events were traditional games, senam seni, gong festival and Layar Bestari.

 

He also said apart from that a 1Malaysia exhibition, Malaysian theme food and drink stalls, infotainment concert (pentarama), Bunga Raya campaign, reading campaign and RTM Mini Studio would also be available.

Abdullah called on the public to attend this programme which he described were both informative and entertaining and the first ever to be held in the state.

 

Also present at the meeting were his deputy, Datuk Poziah Abdul Rahman, State Information Department Director, Resat Salleh and other representative from KPKK.
