Must read

Head of State, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud (centre) launched the The Report: Sarawak 2015. Witnessing the event were (from left to right) State Secretary YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Haji Satem, Oxford Business Group (OBG) Chief Executive Officer Andrew Jeffreys and OBG Managing Editor for Asia, Paulius Kuncinas. The event was held at the State Legislative Assembly Building on 23 April 2015

This is the third publication of its kind produced by the global publishing, research and consultancy firm; this time highlighting the State’s drive to develop its value-added industries in diversifying the economy away from extraction.

It consists of in-depth analysis of sectors and initiatives that are not only supporting the state’s economy, but also Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia, including agriculture, transport, tourism, energy, and especially the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).

It also features interviews from various ministers, government and private agencies leaders, and international personalities – from the Chief Minister and the State Secretary to Brunei’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II and the Secretary-General of ASEAN.

“Aside from the infrastructural development in transport, telecoms and power, Sarawak is looking to achieve results by setting specific targets for growth in sectors such as retail and agriculture,” said OBG Managing Editor for Asia, Paulius Kuncinas.

“Our report anticipates the next chapter in the state’s growth story, as SCORE beds in and ASEAN integration edges towards completion.”
