International Knowledge Conference 2015 Press Conference

The conference will take place at Pullman Hotel from 15 to 17 November this year (Sunday to Tuesday) will be launched by Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Haji Satem on 16 November. The event is set to close the State Library’s 15th anniversary celebration.

Themed “Knowledge: The Key to a Better Tomorrow”, the conference is expected to be attended by 200 participants, and will feature two keynote speeches and 29 paper presentations from professionals and experts from the knowledge industry (encompassing education, library and knowledge management institutions), as well as researchers and members of the academia, from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Iran, Algeria and South Africa.

It aims to be a venue to exchange knowledge and experience among researchers, librarians, archivists, knowledge workers, policy makers, students and academicians on knowledge industry; to look into current global trends, innovations and best practices in the management, access and communications of information; and to have an overview of governmental policies regarding information and knowledge management.

Sarawak State Library is organising the conference, and hopes to do hold a similar event every five years.
