Kuching will be the host of The 4th ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards 2019 in from 25th to 27th April 2019
AIFFA is a film festival that brings ten nations together through films which provides the opportunity for Southeast Asian countries see each other’s stories, and more importantly learn about communities in each ASEAN nations. This was said by YB Datuk Karim Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports during the Soft Launch of AIFFA 2019 in Kuching.
Festival director, Livan Tajang said that a tremendous branding opportunity to promote the State is by bringing in international celebrities, who will drew attentions to Kuching via social media and seen by millions of theirs followers thus, helps to create awareness of the festival and also about Kuching and Sarawak alike, especially in conjunction with Visit Sarawak 2019.
Furthermore, Livan informed on the 25th April, we will see the arrival of 400 delegates and international media to Kuching, the welcome party will be held at the Kuching Waterfront Extension.
Besides the announcement of nominated films, there will be some performance and a premier film opening. This event is open to public. The Old Courthouse will be a hive of activities for the three days as film screenings; a sales gallery and exhibition; film talks and AIFFA BIZ WORLD will be held here.
The big event on the evening of 27th April will be held at the Pullman Hotel namely Gala Night where the best of the best ASEAN films are awarded.
