The Innovative Creative Circle (KIK) teams from the Sarawak State Civil Service have once again achieved international success when all participating teams have won four gold awards at the this year’s International Convention Quality Control Circle (ICQCC) in Tokyo, Japan.
Led by State Secretary YB Datu Jaul Samion and accompanied by several senior officers as observers, the Sarawak teams comprised DO IT 3 Team (Sarawak State Treasury Department), THE HUMMER Team (Sarawak Timber Development Corporation (STIDC), FORCESCAP Team (Miri City Council) and JAGU Team (Sri Aman District Council).
This recent achievement was deemed meaningful as it reflected the success of the 10-year implementation of SCS 10-20 Transformation Journey Action Plan.
On that note, YB Datu Jaul expressed his delight at the practice of the Innovative and Creative working culture within the service, and thus urged heads of department to play a vital role in fostering a culture that emphasises innovation and quality in service delivery.
He also acknowledge that the State civil service’s success was the result of continuous efforts from the teams and cooperation among agencies, mainly the State Service Modernisation Unit (UPPN) under the Chief Minister’s Department in ensuring long-term cultivation of the innovation and quality culture within the service.
Meanwhile, the latest ICQCC was held from 21 to 27 September 2019 and participated by 370 groups from 16 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.
The prestigious convention was organised by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) in collaboration with productivity bodies of participating countries which possess similar roles as Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) in Malaysia.
