Local women entrepreneurs can apply for loans from the Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme to further boost their businesses
Over the years, the participation of Sarawak women has continued to become more apparent in contributing towards the economic growth and development of the State.
Recognizing this, it was announced that the seed capital for the Sarawak Department of Women and Family (JWKS) has been increased to RM2 million this year.
This initiative which is meant to empower women began with RM500,000 in 2018 has gradually increased to RM1 million in 2019 to help women in their businesses.
Apart from the seed capital, Sarawak women are also encouraged to apply for loans from the Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme, in which the State government has approved an allocation of RM30 million.
Those interested may apply through the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminals and Entrepreneur Development or Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).
